Me neither.. music is a little different in my world. Apparently Single Fellas is called "Single Ladies" in some worlds and it's sung by a queen named Beyonce!? And there's no such thing as Break the Tub outside of Veludo's world! I just have the stuff on my phone, so I don't really know how to play my world's music... otherwise I could just sing one of my songs for you.
[ Wait, he's rambling, Azul just said- ]
...I still don't even understand how you talk under water, let alone how you would sing. [ There's no air underwater!! Though it's not really important, they're just here to have fun, after all. ]
How did you grow lungs anyway? That sounds so badass...
[ Taichi nods. Despite that Taichi does mispronounce things from time to time, Veludo is correct, despite how close what he says next sounds to a Taichi brand butchering of "Broadway." ]
Veludo Way! It's Japan's theater district in my world. I moved into Mankai Theater after.. after I quit God Troupe when I realized where I really belonged. GodZa is one of the top troupes in Japan, but I think Mankai is going to go so the way someday... Also, Mankai has a dorm so we all get paid in food and rent and bills! It's really cool. Mankai is on Veludo Way and has been there forever... We're the second generation. Ah, but there's lots of theaters and street acts everywhere, it's the mecca for actors!
[ Taichi will be happy once he figures that out. He tries to understand how things work but usually ends up lost. Getting to say "It's magic!" Is way easier.]
Oh! Azu-chan, the words are at the bottom of the screen, break a leg!
[ Taichi will start first though since Azul seems nervous. He grins and picks up the mic, following along for the first verse before gesturing to Azu that it was his turn next, then they sing the chorus together! ]
[ Ehhh? That voice sounds so familiar when he sings. Taichi looks surprised at first, but since Taichi's fumbling some of the notes he doesn't know either, it's just fun.
Azul may not be prepared for the second round of chorus though, when Taichi wraps an arm around his shoulders for hug-singing and excited jumping.]
[HE IS BEING HUGGED WHAT THE FUCK actually it's weirdly...almost comforting, Azul himself as an octopus is prone to clinging but at the same time HE IS BEING HUGGED WITHOUT CONSENT.
This means that last chorus is sung with him a bit oddly tense because what.]
[ It is Azul's luck that he is neither taller nor more muscular than Taichi, or else Taichi would've considered leaping into his arms. The hug is mild. ]
Are you okay, Azu-chan?! You sounded weird in that last part!
[ The hug he gives this time is soft and warm, a little squeeze at the end. Taichi can't imagine life without any hugs and he wants Azul to experience that warmth. Also he likes hugs a lot himself. He grins then and goes to plug his phone into the karaoke system.]
In that case, I'll show you my solo!
[ And the food is delivered right about then to the table in front of the seats.]
[ The next song he sings is one that's his own, and somewhat personal to him. The other songs he's done were either group songs or character duets. But this one is all him and he's pretty proud of it, so he's happy to share it with Azul.
Then after that he both sings and does the complete Single Ladies dance, though he gets the lyrics wrong because in his world it's Single Fellas. Please enjoy learning that Taichi can in fact shake his ass like Beyonce. ]
[ Taichi's pretty sure that's the first laughter he's gotten out of Azul. He finishes his performance like a professional, then breaks down laughing with him. Maybe his heart hurts right now, but having fun with a friend and seeing his friend laughing like that... Helps. ]
S-Silly!? I'm a good dancer, you know! [ 🥺 but also Azul is giggling and Taichi likes that a lot so he just grins and keeps going ] It's a hot dance! Though you're supposed to wear a leotard if you really want to get into it but I don't have one... I definitely couldn't pull that off, heh!
Heh, I was too busy moving around as a kid to study right, I get it but in reverse.
[ As a kid? More like even now. ]
I really really wanted people to notice me back then, but no one ever did, even after I changed my hair, pierced my ears, started speaking with my accent.
[ He's referring to the way he speaks in Japanese, which doesn't necessarily translate. He tacks on things like "-ssu" to words and uses some shorthand, though not incomprehensibly so. ]
Like painfully average, I tried everything to get attention! That's how I found out how much I love acting, since I've never felt as good as how excited everyone was about me the first time I landed a role. Even though people forgot after a couple days..
[ Taichi just wants people to like him and care about him and give him attention.]
What about you? How did you know you wanted to cook?

And until I gained a set of human lungs, I didn't understand how humans sang or spoke on land.
[Just saying.]
Veludo?

It sounds like there's a lot of competition--oh, crap, the song--!
[It's starting and help he doesn't know the words!]

But he manages! Awkwardly and he absolutely misses a few words, but he really isn't as bad as he'd claim.]

I...the only people who tend to touch me are either my parents or the twins. I'm not used to it, otherwise.

I'm not mad. [Just incredibly baffled by this whole thing.] However, I'll let you sing the next few solo if that's alright.

Sit back and enjoy the show, Azu-chan!
no subject
But if Taichi is content to sing, it means Azul is free to sit and eat and text Jade because oh yeah still having that little crisis of friendship.
Taichi does have a very nice voice, though.]

Well.
Surprise, Taichi. You got Azul Ashengrotto to laugh. And it's not a mocking one!]

Azu-chan! Did you like that one?

[Still giggling!]
Body language indeed...

And he is not commenting on the leotard thing.]
Human dances are so weird. I'll never get used to them.

[ 👀 please he wants to see ]

[He does not expect Taichi to say this correctly.]
And I don't know any. I was too busy studying to learn any of them except the two Mom made me learn to please my grandparents as a kid.
